Where Sustainability Meets Style
At Aqua Blu Australia, style and sustainability go hand-in-hand. From the first sketch to the final stitch, we’re committed to crafting collections that leave a lighter footprint, without ever compromising on quality or design.
thoughtful design, better materials
We believe every garment should begin with intention. That’s why our ready-to-wear collections are created using premium, considered materials, from breathable linens and soft cottons to luxurious silks. We prioritise natural fibres for their lower environmental impact and continue to seek out innovative, eco-conscious fabrics that elevate both form and function.
Our swimwear is crafted using a blend of recycled fabrics, giving new life to existing materials. It's sustainability that feels as good as it looks.
SMART INNOVATION FOR A GREENER FUTURE
Sustainability doesn’t stop at fabric choice. Through advanced technologies, we’ve proudly reduced our water waste by 30% year on year, setting a new benchmark in mindful manufacturing. We use only natural dyes to create our signature prints, a practice we’ve upheld for over two decades. Every colour tells a story, and with a 60-hour colour fastness across our fabrics, our garments are made to last, vibrant, beautiful, and built for longevity.
Durability is woven into everything we make. Our fabrics offer an outstanding 48-hour chlorine resistance, exceeding industry standards and ensuring your pieces stay flawless over time. How? It starts with precision. While typical circular knits use just 12–18 needles, we use 77. This tighter weave dries faster, absorbs dyes more deeply, enhances colour vibrancy, and boosts fabric strength. We also print using state-of-the-art 14-head inkjet printers with premium Japanese inks, delivering unparalleled colour depth and detail in every piece.
CIRCULARITY
In 2025, Aqua Blu Australia proudly partnered with Thread Together and the Australian Red Cross to extend the life cycle of our garments and support communities in need. Through this collaboration, we donated out-of-season stock and samples to vulnerable groups across Australia. This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility by ensuring our clothing serves a greater purpose beyond the fashion industry.
Thread Together addresses two significant issues: textile waste and clothing insecurity. By collecting brand-new, unsold clothing from fashion retailers, they redistribute these items to individuals and families experiencing hardship, restoring dignity and providing essential support. Their model not only diverts clothing from landfills but also empowers recipients by offering choice and quality apparel. To date, Thread Together has redirected millions of garments from landfill to people in need across Australia.
The Australian Red Cross operates a network of shops that sell quality donated clothing and goods. These shops play a crucial role in reducing landfill by giving pre-loved items a second life, with proceeds supporting Red Cross's humanitarian efforts both locally and internationally. In addition to environmental benefits, the Red Cross provides opportunities for volunteers and contributes to community development.
Our collaboration with Thread Together and the Red Cross exemplifies Aqua Blu Australia's dedication to sustainable practices and community engagement. By participating in these circular initiatives, we not only minimise our environmental footprint but also contribute positively to society. We remain committed to exploring and implementing strategies that promote sustainability throughout the entire lifecycle of our products, ensuring that our fashion choices align with our values and those of our conscious customers.
